Ex-Veteran Teacher Hides Special Secret from Students, Then It’s Finally Revealed on TV Report

Jim O’Connor is the type of teacher you try to not get matched with when registering courses. He has a short military-cut hairstyle with watchful eyes that constantly scan his students.

After years in the military, he now has an authoritative voice that catches all the students’ attention when he needs it.

And like most teachers, Jim doesn’t handle rowdy and restless teens very well in the classroom.

As a teacher at the St. Francis High School in California, Jim’s 32 teenage students consider him as sort of a drudge. The students know him for his strict behavior in a classroom until they knew of his personality outside of the school.

It turns out, Jim is known after 5 p.m. and on weekends – as the baby whisperer.

Jim is a TLC Volunteer at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles where he devoted several days each week for 20 years cuddling sick infants.

On top of donating type O- blood, a highly sought after universal blood type, Jim also spends his time rocking, walking, feeding and just generally doting upon sick babies.

Everyone at the hospital loves when Jim volunteers as the tiny babies all seem to be drawn to him.

His total alter ego outside of the school caught students off-guard. It’s like they found a second half of him.

Watch how Jim interacts with the delicate children and more of his story in the video below:
