Tom McIntosh was among the hundreds injured in the Las Vegas mass shooting when he was saved by a complete stranger. While attending the Route 91 music festival, he was fleeing the scene when he was shot in the leg.

James Lawson, an EMT army reserves soldier used a belt to fashion a makeshift tourniquet to the leg of Tom as a bullet has struck him.

On TODAY, McIntosh and Lawson have an emotional reunion as they discuss the events that unfolded. “I wouldn’t have made it,” Tom says as he thanks his hero.
