Loren Krytzer’s successful career as a carpenter came to a screeching halt when he was involved in a near-fatal car accident—doctors gave him five years to live and he had to amputate his foot.

He was denied disability many times and when he finally received it, he only had $200 to live on each month after paying rent.

Then, he watched an episode of “Antiques Roadshow” and recognized a blanket selling for thousands of dollars.

He grabbed his own blanket and thought maybe he could get at least that much. He was wrong.
