33 Circus Lions Are Freed and Returned to Africa
Going to the circus might seem like a lot of fun, but once you know about how some of the animals are treated, it kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
Thankfully, some animal organizations, like Animal Defenders International, are taking steps to rescue circus animals and return them to their natural habitats.
Recently, Animal Defenders International spent a lot of time and resources tracking down and rescuing lions from illegal circuses in Peru and Colombia.
After 18 months of work, the organization was able to rescue over 100 animals, 33 of whom were lions.
Even though the lions could not go back to the wild, the organization could still go back to Africa and live the rest of their lives in peace.
As soon as you hear the lions roar at 2:56, you know they’ll be okay from now on.
